    State Public Holidays

    While there are a number of national public holidays in the United States—such as New Year's Day, Independence Day and Veterans' Day—many states also have their own individual public holidays. In many cases, if a holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday is observed on Friday and if the holiday falls on a Sunday, it is celebrated on Monday.
